Asa Lassiter has been the owner/operator of Island Compass South, Inc. since May, 2008. Asa is a 12-year Navy Veteran who proudly served in the US Naval Submarine Service, and has extensive experience in compass adjustment and repair as well as electronics.

Island Compass South provides quality service to our clients along the US eastern coast, including the Florida Keys and the Bahamas. We offer on-site compass adjustment for ships, boats and yachts of all sizes and types, including commercial, military and private boats. 

In addition to compass adjustment, ICS provides compass repair and rebuilding to clients worldwide. ICS also serves as a source for sales of tools and magnets for compass adjustors.

HISTORY

Island Compasses South was started in 1991 by Steve Colt of Orange Park, Florida. Steve was initially trained by his father, Fred Colt of Island Compasses in Annapolis, Maryland. In 2008 Steve decided to "pass the torch" to his cousin, Asa (ā - suh) Lassiter. With a background in the US Navy, Asa has found the transition to compass adjustment and repair a natural fit.
